Street vendor’s unconventional choice of bananas instead of potatoes in ‘pani puri’ leaves netizens unimpressed

Instead of boiled potatoes, the vendor opted for bananas to prepare the pani puri.

Street vendors have adopted a trend of seeking attention by experimenting with food, aiming to captivate onlookers. Although these endeavors often fall short of impressing internet users, such videos frequently gain widespread popularity.

A video circulating on Twitter has gained significant attention as it showcases a street vendor preparing ‘pani puri’, a beloved street food delicacy. What sets this particular video apart is the vendor’s unique choice of using bananas instead of the traditional boiled potatoes. Posted on June 22 by user Mohammed Futurewala (@MFuturewala), the video has already garnered an impressive 45,000 views.

In the viral video, the vendor can be seen peeling bananas and placing them in a bowl. To create his unique version of pani puri, he combines the bananas with chickpeas, a selection of spices, and fresh coriander leaves. The vendor proceeds to serve the unconventional concoction to customers. The video caption humorously states, “Introducing Banana Chana Pani Puri, a creation that challenges the traditional expectations of Pani Puri enthusiasts.” Says this caption…

One user questioned the significance of the unconventional choice, commenting, “Was this really necessary?” Another user expressed their disappointment, asking, “What did you actually show?” In a lighthearted manner, a third user joked, “Well, at least it’s a healthy option.” Another comment suggested that while it may be considered sacrilegious, there’s no harm in trying it as an alternative if traditional jal zeera is too spicy. Expressing dissatisfaction, another person humorously mentioned having to “sanitize” their eyes every time food-related videos are shared. Someone else cautioned the video uploader about pushing their luck too far.
