It’s disastrous when Microsoft and Nokia team up (now or from the start)

When Microsoft acquired Nokia on April 25, 2014, many assumed the worst. While some claimed the move would revolutionise the landscape of mobile technology, others merely described it as a poor choice that would negatively impact the technology industry.

That was, however, in the past, wasn’t it? Now is the time to look into information that can inform us about the future and the present.

While the majority believe that Microsoft’s acquisition of Nokia is a case study that will aid many in understanding what went so wrong and how often the seemingly best course of action may have the most disastrous effects, Others are firmly convinced that the transaction was nothing more than a catastrophe.

Ballmer promised that “together as one organisation with the devices folks at Nokia, we’ll do a wonderful job” when he made the decision to purchase Nokia. And despite the fact that many still believed this choice to be a terrible mistake at the time, Microsoft is still unwilling to admit it. Instead, they are attempting to comfort themselves and others by claiming that while their choice was sound, it was tough for them due to the extraordinary pace at which the phone market operates.

A small number of people still agree with Microsoft’s choice to invest in Nokia, despite the majority of us stating it was a mistake. Daniel Rubino, for instance, stated in one of these blogs that “Nokia was already in dire straits, and their board was getting itchy for alternatives. Had Nokia decided to jump all-in on Android devices, sold to a competitor, or worse, none of the others would have been good for Microsoft and their Windows Phone story.”

WHAT COMES UP?

What lies ahead for Microsoft and Nokia now that everything has been said and done. However, the business now claims that, with fewer in-house phones, its goal will be on a larger “ecosystem” rather than producing smartphones. The objective would mostly be to demonstrate Windows Phone capabilities to other manufacturers.
